A Different Chili
- 2-3 cups water
- 1.5 lbs ground beef
- 1/4 cup onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4 t ground cinnamon
- 3/4 t ground cumin
- 1 1/2 t salt
- 2 T chili powder
- 3/4 t black pepper
- 1/2 t red pepper
- 1/2 t ground allspice
- 3 bay leaves
- 1 can (6 oz) tomato paste
- 2.25 oz can sliced black olives
- 1/4 cup chili peppers, finely chopped (can omit but not recommended)
Brown ground beef in a large pot. (I do not drain.)
Add remaining ingredients, bring to a boil. Then simmer about 2 hours, stirring occasionally. Or place in a crock pot and cook on high 2 hours or low 4 hours.
